During the past 10 years an orderly and logical classification has been attempted by several authors (1-3). A modification of the classification proposed by Finegold, Will, and Murray (3) includes 3 types of pulmonary aspergillosis. The first is invasion of the lung as part of widespread blood-borne dissemination. The second is the pneumonic form, with involvement of the pulmonary parenchyma. The third type is the localized form with abscess, granuloma, or mycetoma formation without involvement of the lung parenchyma. A review of the medical literature of...References1.
