The decay rate of ortho-positronium in vacuum

Abstract

The decay rate of ortho-positronium in a gas has been determined as a function of the gas density. A vacuum decay rate of 7.045+or-0.006 mu s-1 has deduced by extrapolation to zero density and is in agreement with the most recent theoretical value.
