Abstract

A neutron-beam magnetic-resonance experiment has been used to set an upper limit to the neutron electric dipole moment ${\ensuremath{\mu}}_{e}$ of $|\frac{{\ensuremath{\mu}}_{e}}{e}|<3\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}22}$ cm, where $e$ is the charge of the proton. A description of the experimental method using very slow neutrons is given, as well as an analysis of the data for systematic effects.
