Reconstruction of the Mandible with Free Composite Iliac Bone Grafts

Abstract

This paper introduces a technique of one-stage reconstruction of the soft tissues and bone of the lower jaw. It utilizes a living composite graft of groin skin and iliac bone, designed on the deep circumflex iliac vessels and transferred by microvascular techniques. The series is small and carefully selected but the results have been most encouraging.
