Previous data on the resistivity of the pure noble metals has been reanalysed in the light of a recent paper by Bergmann, Kaveh and Wiser (1980). New data on strained pure metal and alloy samples have been similarly analysed and show the variations in electron-phonon and electron-electron scattering predicted by theories based on anisotropic scattering on the Fermi surface.
