Micellar and salt effects on the reactions Ru(NH3)5(pz)2+ + S2O82- and Ru(NH3)5(pz)2+ + Co(ox)33- have been studied. It is shown that the well-known pseudophase model, an extension of the Olson−Simonson treatment to the micellar case, is equivalent to the Brönsted relation in regard to rationalization of the micellar effects. It is also shown that micellar systems behave as low-concentration/high-ionic-strength systems.
