Summary Urine from normal and leukemic subjects on controlled low-purine diets was fractionated by ion-exchange column chromatography, and the various effluent peaks exhibiting absorbance at 260 mµ were subjected to two-dimensional filter paper chromatography for further resolution. It appeared from gross examination of the chromatograms that there were a greater number and concentration of blue fluorescent substances in much of the leukemic urine. Two of these compounds have been identified as 2-dimethylamino-6-hydroxypurine and its ribonucleoside.
