Isolator free optical I/O core transmitter by using quantum dot laser

Abstract

We developed isolator-free optical transmitters for optical I/O core by using quantum-dot lasers. The signal degradation by optical feedback reflected within the transmitter was negligible and the estimated BER was less than 1e-12 at 25-Gbps.
