A comparison of Protection Lookaside Buffers and the PA-RISC protection architecture

Abstract

Computer Science have proposed a new model for memory protection in single-address-space architectures. This paper compares the Washington proposal with what already exists in PA-RISC, and suggests some incremental improvements to the latter that would provide most of the benefits of the former.
