Abstract

Both cognitive-behavioural therapy and psychodynamic psychotherapy have to be treatments offered in clinics for treating PTSD. Therapists who treat PTSD should be familiar with cognitive-behavioural and dynamic methods. The type of treatment chosen should be based on thorough psychosocial assessment.
