Abstract

ABSTRACT 1H‐Indene reacts with red phosphorus in the superbasic KOH/DMSO(H 2 O) suspension at 120°C for 2.5 h to give (after acidification) 2,3‐dihydro‐1 H ‐inden‐2‐yl‐phosphinic acid in 55% isolated yield.
