Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Device Infections in Left Ventricular Assist Device Recipients

Abstract

Patients who are receiving LVAD therapy and develop CIED infection should be managed with complete CIED removal. Chronic suppressive antibiotic therapy is warranted in cases that have concomitant LVAD infection.
