Abstract

In the study presented, regional flood frequency analysis is carried out for three western river basins in Turkey. The method of L-moments is employed for this purpose, using a four-step procedure, i.e., screening of data, identification of homogenous regions, selection of a regional distribution, and estimation of the regional frequency distribution. A reliable regional curve is sought for three basins by evaluating the discordance measure, heterogeneity measure, and the goodness-of-fit measure.
