How to determine static BHT from well log data

Abstract

An analytical technique was developed for analyzing maximum bottom hole temperatures, which are recorded during well logging operations, to determine static formation temperature. The method requires use of a maximum recording thermometer on each logging run, plus information concerning circulating time and time that the logging instrument was last on the bottom of the borehole.
