Abstract

Interpretation of free air and Bouguer gravity anomaly maps provide new information about the crustal structure of Kuwait and surrounding areas. A new interactive program for IBM-compatible personal computer (PC) was used to prepare five geologic crosssections from modeling of gravity profiles. The modeling was constrained by deep boreholes drilled for oil exploration. The cross-sections extend to depths of about 6,000 m, which was sufficient to portray the various Phanerozoic units throughout Kuwait.
