Multiple brain metastases are associated with poor survival in patients treated with surgery and radiotherapy.

Abstract

These results are consistent with a recent randomized study supporting the role of surgery and whole-brain radiation therapy in the management of patients with solitary brain metastases. We would caution against the generalization of this concept to patients with two or more brain metastases.
