Abstract

Summary A patient with a superior mediastinal mass, which varied with position, is presented. A diagnosis of aneurysmal dilatation of the superior vena cava was confirmed by both radioisotopic angiocardiography and conventional venography. This is the fifth case of aneurysmal dilatation of the superior vena cava to be reported in the English literature and is the first to be studied by radioisotopic angiocardiography. We support the suggestion (1) that this technique may be used as a screening procedure in the evaluation of mediastinal and paramediastinal masses.
