PLAC1/CP1 protein is expressed in over half of cases of primary gastric cancer, and PLAC1/CP1 protein expression is inversely correlated with patient survival. The data indicate that PLAC1/CP1 provides a marker for identifying gastric cancers with poor prognosis, and suggest that PLAC1/CP1 may provide a useful target for immunotherapy.
