In this paper, we present a new kind of noise radar-the random binary phase coded (RBPC) CW radar. First, we introduce the system structure of this radar, analyze the probability distribution and average ambiguity function of the radar waveform, and the probability distribution of the range sidelobe (RSL). Then, a statistical method of suppressing the RSL by more than 30 dB is presented. Finally, the given experimental results show that the RBPC CW radar has better performance than the pseudorandom binary phase-coded (PBPC) CW radar in general and validate the theoretical prediction.
