Primary productivity of coral reefs, in Manauli Island (Gulf of Mannar). \nMinicoy (Laccadive Sea) and Andaman Islands (Bay of Bengal) was estimated \nby the diurnal changes of oxygen in the sea water flowing over the reefs. There \nwas a strong unidirectional flow due to trade winds in the first region whereas in \nthe other two regions there was only tidal flow. However, there was measurable \nvariation in all the places between the. upstream and downstream measurements \nof oxygen values and these variations have been graphically integrated in order \nto obtain the primary productivity.
