The European Union's Brussels-I on Jurisdiction and Judgment Recognition in Civil and Commercial Matters has been revised. The recast Regulation was promulgated in late 2012, to enter into force Jan. 15, 2015. The paper notes important changes dealing with choice-of-court clauses, lis pendens, weaker party protection (consumer transactions) and relating to judgment recognition (anolition of exequatur).
