Abstract

Flow regime transition data were obtained from a two-dimensional Plexiglas cold model operated at pressures up to 6,464 kPa. Data on transition between bubbling and turbulent fluidization using bed materials of glass and coal of different particle size distributions are reported here. A general correlation was developed for the two-dimensional bubbling-turbulent transition, taking into account the existing literature data as well.
