Abstract

Surgery-induced sensorineural hearing losses were similar for stapedotomies and stapedectomies. However, stapedotomies were more effective and atraumatic than stapedectomies because of the better postoperative hearing results at middle and high frequencies and the shorter postoperative vertigo.
