Abstract

Welcome to SPLC 2012, the 16th International Software Product Line Conference. SPLC is the premier forum for researchers and practitioners to share their experience, discuss and cooperate to improve the field. The conference covers a wide range of topics related to software product lines. The conference program offers a broad combination of keynotes, research and industrial papers, panels, workshops, tutorials, the doctoral symposium, tools session, and the exciting Product Line Hall of Fame. We are sure that the outstanding program will be appealing for researches as well as practitioners. The conference received 66 research papers and accepted 22, resulting in a 33 % acceptance rate. In addition, the industrial track received 18 papers and accepted 9, representing a 50% acceptance rate. Contributions from research and industry are the core of SPLC, therefore we would like to thank all authors and contributors for their submissions. Moreover, we are very grateful to the program committee members who performed a careful review of each paper and conducted exciting discussions to define the final list of papers.
