The paper describes a study which is a part of a larger investigation on the use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets for repair and strengthening of reinforced concrete beams. The primary objectives of this comprehensive 3-year project were: to ascertain the applicability of carbon fiber reinforced polymer laminates for repair and strengthening of concrete beams; to synthesize existing knowledge and develop procedures for implementation in the field; to identify key parameters to insure successful performance; and, to adapt the technique to the specific conditions encountered.
