The report and further details are available on our website www.gmc-uk.org or from Nicola Costin-Davis on NCostinDavis@gmc-uk.org Applying the findings l Continued collaboration and engagement with other regulators through Healthcare Professionals Crossing Borders; the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities; and the Conference Europeenne des Ordres des Medecins (the European Council of Medical Orders), to improve information sharing about medical practitioners wishing to practise in the UK l Clearer signposting on the GMC website to: ethical guidance, with explanation of the context in which it was developed and l key differences in the UK approach (e.g. the focus on patient autonomy and choice in guidance on consent and confidentiality) l Promotion of GMP in Action and ethical guidance via websites, newsletters and at events of organisations supporting doctors qualified outside the UK. Key Findings: The structure, remit and values of medical regulation vary in significant ways between the countries examined.
