Attitudes of Hospital Staff toward Alcoholics and Drug Addicts

Abstract

Alcoholics were viewed more favorably than were drug addicts, and high-status staff (e.g., psychiatrists) had less favorable attitudes toward either group that did the low-status (e.g., clerical and housekeeping staff).
