Abstract

The work examines new synthetic aperture radar (SAR) concepts for high-resolution wide-swath imaging, with focus on the development and analysis of innovative processing algorithms for systems with multiple receiving channels in azimuth. A complete SAR system is designed and simulated, showing the intricate relationship between system architecture and processing. Optimization strategies are presented. Finally, multi-channel systems operating in burst modes as TOPS and ScanSAR are investigated.
