Emotion and Cognition: Attitudes toward Persons Who Are Visually Impaired

Abstract

The results of this survey of attitudes toward visually impaired persons among the general public and rehabilitation workers in The Netherlands suggest that it is useful and possible to distinguish between the emotional and cognitive components of attitudes. Implications for public education programs and for training programs for professionals are presented.
