Toward the Effective Animation of American Sign Language

Abstract

American Sign Language (ASL) is the primary language used by the North American Deaf Community.
\nWe present our method for producing natural animations of fingerspelling, a functionally important subset
\nof ASL. User testing demonstrates that our animations are readily identified by members of the deaf
\ncommunity.
