Effect of asymptomatic vaginal colonization with <i>Candida albicans</i> on pregnancy outcome

Abstract

Recurrent asymptomatic vaginal colonization with Candida in early pregnancy is associated with preterm delivery and low birthweight. Routine screening and consequent treatment for candidiasis could improve pregnancy outcomes.
