S Moorey, S. Greer Cognitive behavior therapy for people with cancer, 2nd edition. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2002. Price: $36.95. This second edition of Moorey and Greer's book should be part of the ‘go-to’ library for all mental health clinicians who work with patients with cancer. The book also will be of interest to psychologically inclined nurses and physicians. Written with a keen awareness of clinical matters by two English psychiatrists, Cognitive Behavior Therapy for People with Cancer provides a cogent overview of the psychologic journey associated with cancer and a brief but rigorous review of the evidence base supporting the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapies for patients with cancer. The majority of the text addresses a broad range of clinical issues and techniques in practical terms. In addition, the text is richly supported by an appendix containing sample logs, thought records, and behavioral assessment scales.
