This paper presents data on fluctuations of biodegradable dissolved organic carbon (BDOC), free bacterial biomass and bacteria fixed onto the inner surface of the pipes, gained in five various french distribution systems. A model of bacterial dynamics has been built on the basis of these experimental data. Principles, processes kinetics, validation and predictions of this model are presented.
