A ternary hybrid was fabricated by sequentially depositing polyaniline and MnO<sub>2</sub> on carbon cloth. It displayed a unique porous structure and possessed a good electrochemical performance with a high areal capacitance of 421.6 mF cm<sup>−2</sup> (0.2 mA cm<sup>−2</sup>).
