The paper describes a series of tests on 22 right circular metal cylinders loaded in axial compression. The experimental results are related to theoretical predictions of post-buckling suggested in an earlier paper using a geometrical model which includes elastic-plastic bending in a series of line hinges separating plane triangulated segments. Modifications to the model are suggested to provide for plastic axial strains at nodal points between the triangles and thus promote a better correlation between theory and experiment.
