Abstract

TFIIC is a factor found earlier in our laboratory to be required for eliminating random transcription by RNA polymerase I1 and thereby for facilitating the detection of specific transcription initiation on promoter-containing DNA templates in the presence of other essential (class 11) transcription factors (Matsui,
