Joints are commonly involved, and epistaxis, bleeding following dental extractions, hematuria, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, and subcutaneous and intramuscular hemorrhages are frequently observed. Pulmonary and subpleural shadows thought to represent hemorrhage have been reported,1 but massive spontaneous bleeding into the pleural space as a manifestation of hemophilia is quite unusual.2True spontaneous hemothorax is to be differentiated from spontaneous pneumohemothorax.
