Helminth parasites of small mammals (insectivores and rodents) on the Pityusic Island of Eivissa (Balearic Archipelago).

Abstract

A study is made of the helminthfauna of the insectivores Atelerix algirus (Erinaceidae) and Crocidura russula (Soricidae), and of the rodents Apodemus sylvaticus, Mus musculus, Mus spretus, Rattus rattus, and Rattus norvegicus (Muridae) on the island of Eivissa (Balearic Archipelago, Spain). The qualitative host ranges are updated, the geographical localities in which the parasite species were recorded are detailed, and an account is given of our current state of knowledge of the helminthfauna parasitizing insectivores and rodents on this island.
