Abstract

Localized respiratory tract amyloidosis mostly affects the trachea and the bronchi. Chest X-rays are not sensitive to detect these lesions. Systemic amyloidosis often involves lung parenchyma and the pleura. Open lung biopsy or pleural biopsy should be performed for the diagnosis.
