We describe the design, synthesis and aggregation behaviour of a biomolecular breadboard in the form of a DNA origami frame. Our findings focus on determining the shortest thermal annealing protocol, yielding correctly folded frames. In addition, we investigate the frames’ chain formation behaviour due to base stacking. By minor alterations in the origami design, we can deliberately avoid or induce this behaviour and influence the relative orientation of frames in the chains.
