Aviation and the Global Atmosphere

Abstract

This report presents a comprehensive review and assessment of the global effects of aviation on the global atmosphere. All gases and particulates emitted by aircraft and the role they play in modifying chemical properties in the atmosphere are examined. Also examined are how potential changes in aircraft technology, transport operations and the institutional, regulatory and economic framework of the airline industry might alter emissions in the future.
