An objective method of determining liver size, even in cases where the margins are obscured clinically and roentgenographically, using the multiple cut off scintillation scanning technique is described. Comparison with postmortem data indicates an accuracy of plus or minus 11.6%. Methods of improving this accuracy are discussed. (auth)
