Highly efficient 1.3 µm Raman fibre amplifier

Abstract

Using a newly developed phosphosilicate fibre-based Raman laser as a pump source, and a low-loss high Δn fibre, the authors have obtained a Raman gain of 40 dB at the 1.24 µm pump power of < 700 mW.
