Abstract

This article describes a simple procedure to improve indoor air quality by maintaining a constant minimum rate of outside air intake for all air flow rates in older variable air volume (VAV) systems that did not have any consideration for maintaining a constant minimum rate of outdoor air ventilation. The procedure is applicable as well to new VAV systems that use packaged equipment or relatively simple built-up equipment.
