Abstract

The grain boundaries of superconducting BaPb0.7Bi0.3O3 sputtered thin films were found to work as tunnelling barriers and to result in the Josephson effect. The current-voltage characteristics of the films show large hysteresis curves and the Josephson critical current density is two orders of magnitude larger than those ever observed in granular superconducting films of other materials.
