A supply of adrenocorticotropin (ACTH-Armour†) was made available to us for study in dermatomyositis and two patients have been treated. One patient who suffered also from advanced carcinomatosis received no apparent benefit from 12 days of treatment, but the effect on the other patient was dramatic. Improvement began within a few hours after the first dose, and the patient was transformed from a critical state into...Bibliography1.
