Abstract

Abstract Acetate kinase (ATP:acetate phosphotransferase, EC 2.7.2.1) has been phosphorylated with 32P, 14C-acetyl phosphate. Only phosphorus was transferred to the enzyme. Phosphoenzyme, prepared with acetyl phosphate, can synthesize ATP from ADP and acetyl phosphate from acetate.
