Abstract

Recent evidence suggests that young people are at an increased
\nrisk for developing problem gambling compared to adults.
\nHowever, relatively little is known about the gambling behaviour
\nand gambling-related problems of young workers. This survey
\nof Australian apprentices revealed high rates of gambling and
\ngambling-related problems, particularly in relation to gambling
\non games of skill, racing and casino table games, and low rates
\nof help-seeking for gambling-related problems. The findings
\nimply that there is a need for effective health promotion and
\nintervention targeted at this group of young workers.
