In this paper the performance of product and parallel concatenated block codes based on one step majority logic decodable (OSMLD) codes is investigated. Our iterative decoding process use a soft-input soft-output threshold decoding algorithm as component decoder. Numerical results for symmetric and asymmetric product codes transmitted additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel are provided. Results have shown that product codes are more efficient than parallel concatenated block codes for moderate and high signal to noise ratios (SNR)
