Using as a key reaction a Micheael-type addition reaction to nitro-cyclohexene derivatives, two optically active cyclohexane analogs of nucleoside, (-)-9-pseudo-β-D-glucopyranosyladenine (8__∼) and (-)-9-pseudo-β-L-idopyranosyladenine (16__∼), were synthesized from adenine and D-glucose.
